What is Spiritual Psychotherapy?

Spiritual psychotherapy is a therapeutic approach that integrates traditional psychological methods with a person’s spiritual beliefs, experiences, and practices to support emotional healing, personal growth, and deeper self-awareness.

People connect with us for many different reasons. They may have family, relationship, or attachment issues, emotional upheavals, trauma, be suffering from stress, depression, or anxiety, be confused or unmotivated, experience a mid-life crisis or an unravelling.

🌟 Is Spiritual Psychotherapy Right for You?

If you find yourself drawn to exploring the spiritual aspects of your experiences or seeking a more holistic approach to mental health, spiritual psychotherapy may be a suitable path. It's important to work with a therapist who is trained in integrating spirituality into their practice to ensure that your beliefs and values are honored throughout the process.  If you're interested in exploring spiritual psychotherapy or learning more about how this approach can support your well-being, contact us.

Our approach to Soul Remembering Therapy draws from insight into Transpersonal (Spiritual) Psychotherapy. This is a unified mind-body-spirit healing. We support you in looking at the spiritual, metaphysical, and existential meaning behind your experiences and provide spiritually informed insights for growth. As options, we use somatic techniques (breathwork, mindfulness, meditation, body motion). Our approach brings together: the inner world, archetypes, dreamwork, and evidence-based practices.  We create a safe space to explore aspects of the mind and cradle a transformative process.  We recognize that different specialties and health care providers can complement each other along an individual's or couple's healing path.

This approach recognizes the breath as a bridge between the mind and body, allowing individuals to process emotions and experiences stored within. Techniques such as circular breathing or holotropic breathwork are often employed to induce altered states of consciousness, enabling clients to explore and resolve deep-seated issues.

 Benefits of Breathwork Psychotherapy

  • Stress Reduction: Promotes relaxation and reduces anxiety levels.

  • Enhanced Self-Awareness: Facilitates a deeper self-understanding and patterns.

  • Improved Mental Clarity: Assists in clearing mental fog and sharpening focus.

  • Spiritual Growth: Supports spiritual exploration and connection.

While breathwork psychotherapy offers numerous benefits, it may not be suitable for everyone. Individuals with certain health conditions, such as cardiovascular issues, respiratory problems, or severe mental health disorders. A preliminary assessment is done to explore whether this option may be helpful. For those without the contraindications, integrating breathwork into therapy can allow access to deeper emotional layers, promote self-awareness, and result in a greater sense of balance and well-being.
